The WRT1900AC is a dual band indoor router that features 4 detachable external antennas, a dual core arm processor, and 5 ethernet ports.
Flashing
If you are starting with a new router, you must perform the first flash with the "factory" version of the firmware. This is due to the stock firmware only allowing you to update using files that match a specific signature. You can identify the factory version of a firmware if the file name ends with squashfs-factory.img
or squashfs-factory.bin
.
- Obtain the factory firmware image
- Log in to the router's admin page - http://192.168.1.1 by default with the password
admin
- Navigate to
Connectivity -> Manual Update
and select the firmware image to flash - Once the process is complete, the router will reboot into the new firmware
